7. MODULES AND ACCESSORIES
7-1 Adjustable dual output MDL-MDUAL
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This module is located at the output of the combiner. It acts on the combined beam, splitting it into two
separate beams, according to an adjustable split ratio. Both beams are delivered on distinctive output
channels (1 and 2 in the figure above). The split ratio can be set between 0% and 100%.
INSTALLATION
This module is fixed at the output of the combiner, pre-aligned with the combined beam.
OPERATION
The power split ratio between both channels is adjusted by sending a software command to the combiner.
Refer to the chapter 3-3 for detailed instructions about how to send such commands.
This command determines the transmission ratio on channel 1, while it is assumed that both channels exhibit
complementary transmission ratios. For example, when setting channel 1 at 40%, it is assumed that the ratio
on channel 2 will be 100% - 40% = 60%.
