Reset

A
switch
Resets the switch without a power-on self test. This is the default. This reset
disrupts traffic and does the following:
ī Activates the pending firmware.
ī Closes all management sessions.
ī Clears the event log. To save the event log before resetting, refer to the
āSet Logā command on page 14-100.
To reset the switch with a power-on self test, refer to the āHardresetā command on
page 14-37. To reset the switch without disrupting traffic, refer to the āHotresetā
command on page 14-40.
system
Resets the system configuration settings to the factory default values as
described in Table 14-17.
zoning
Clears the zoning database and deactivates the active zone set. The zoning
configuration parameters (MergeAutoSave, DefaultZone, DiscardInactive) remain
unchanged. Refer to Table 14-13 for information about the zoning configuration
parameters.
NOTE:
The following files are deleted from the switch during a switch reset:
ī Firmware image files that have not been unpacked
ī Configuration backup files
ī Support files
NOTE:
ī Because this keyword changes network parameters, the
workstation could lose communication with the switch.
ī This keyword does not affect installed license keys.
