ESP-LX Modular Controller 35
Cycle+Soak™
The Cycle+Soak™ feature is designed to conserve water that might
puddle in tight soils such as clay, or end up as runoff on slopes.
Cycle+Soak™ lets you break up the total run time of a valve into
shorter cycles. You set a maximum watering (cycle) time and a
minimum soak time.
For example, if you want a valve to run for a total of 20 minutes,
but runoff begins after five minutes, you can set the valve for five-
minute maximum cycles, with a minimum soak time of 25 minutes
between cycles.
When the controller operates this valve, the sprinklers will run for
five minutes (cycle) and then shut off for at least 25 minutes (soak).
While the valve is in soak mode, the controller operates the other
valves in the program.
The controller will automatically return to the first valve when the
soak time has elapsed. The valve will operate for another five
minutes and then shut off for another soak time. This process
repeats until the valve has run for its total run time of 20 minutes.
NOTE: Cycle+Soak™ times affect the valve in all
programs to which it is assigned.
Turn the dial to “VALVE SETTINGS.”
