MULTI-PURPOSE PROBE

- The 100 MHz Baseband Upconvert option mixes the signal with a 100 MHz signal for analyzing
baseband (see page 97).
- A break-out cable with alligator clips is included with the OSCOR unit for use with the carrier
current input. This cable should not be used with power circuits.
Receiver Overload - MPP Carrier Current Probe
When using the MPP to test for carrier current on the ground line, there typically is a lot of RF emissions
at the low end of the spectrum. This RF energy can cause the OSCOR to display the Input Overload
warning. This can occur especially if the preamp is turned ON. The tuner overload condition can cause
false spurs to occur, specifically around 12 and 24 MHz.
To clear the error, apply just enough attenuation until the input overload warning is no longer displayed.
If the signals are still present after the attenuation is applied, they should be considered actual threats.
VLF (Loop Antenna)
The VLF (Very Low Frequency) input uses a loop antenna for analyzing the RF spectrum at low
frequencies.
