Step 3: Reset the printer
Disconnecting the printer clears errors and can resolve issues.
1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
3. Wait 60 seconds.
4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
NOTE: Ricoh recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Turn the printer on, and then wait for an alignment page to print.
If an alignment page prints, complete the alignment process for your printer.
If an alignment page does not print, continue to the next step.
Step 4: Manually print an alignment page
Use the printer software or printer control panel to print an alignment page and align the cartridges.
1. If you have not installed your printer software, go to http://support.ricoh.com/services/device/qr/D0EW.
html, and then download and install the recommended software.
2. Print an alignment page.
Printer control panel: Open the Printer Maintenance menu, and then select the option to Align
printhead.
Ricoh Printer Assistant (Windows): Click Quiet Mode, and then select the option to align the
printheads.
3. If your printer has a scanner, follow the directions on the alignment page to scan it and complete the
alignment.
If the issue persists, continue to the next step.
Step 5: Service the printer
Service or replace your Ricoh product if the issue persists after completing all the preceding steps.
