This RTB has been issued to announce the troubleshooting procedure for large paper
skews (Jam 098).
SYMPTOM
Jam code 098, which indicates that the CIS (contact image sensor) does not turn off, is
issued when printing on dark colored paper, especially red or blue colored paper.
CAUSE
The CIS fails to correctly detect paper edges, especially when feeding red or blue paper
because the light source of the CIS is green.
SOLUTION
Adjust the luminance of the CIS in Advanced Settings “06: Color Paper Edge Detection
Adjustment”.
