Inserting the Code Chip
Note: Roche recommends to keep the code chip in the meter to protect the contacts from
becoming dirty.
Note: Once the test strip lot is used up, dispose of the old code chip promptly to prevent mix-
ups.
Note:
Protect the code chip from moisture and equipment which produces magnetic fields.
1 Remove the old code chip, if one is
inserted in the meter.
Dispose of the old code chip with your
household waste.
2 Always make sure that the number on the
code chip matches the number on the
label of the test strip package.
By scanning the barcode on the strip, the
meter gathers information about the
number of the required code chip.
3 Slide the new code chip into the slot on
the top of the meter as shown until you
feel it snaps into place.
Note: If the code chip is missing or incorrectly inserted, a corresponding error message
appears in the display (see “Troubleshooting” starting on page 127).
