Data Handling Setup
Connection
In the Select Connection menu you can configure the data exchange with external devices. The
meter can be connected either to a computer or a printer.
Computer
The meter can connect with a computer or host system, e.g., the cobas IT 1000 PoC data
management system. Physically the connection requires the (optional) Handheld Base Unit
and is established in two steps:
The meter connects to the Handheld Base Unit via infrared.
The Handheld Base Unit is either connected to a single computer (via USB) or to a
network/host system (via ethernet).
The computer can be used to
set up operator lists or
lists of patients to be tested (patient lists),
thus eliminating the need for manual entry of these data.
In addition, you can transfer test results stored in the meter to other systems for archiving or
further evaluation. The Data Handling settings activate or deactivate the meter’s ability to
communicate with a computer.
