TheEBDsystemislinkedtothebrakesystemwarning
lightontheinstrumentpack.Forinformationonwarning
lightoperation,referto‘WarningLightsandIndicators’in
‘InstrumentsandControls’.Ifthislightilluminateswhile
driving,orremainsilluminatedaftertheignitionisturned
onandreleaseparkingbrake,thereisafaultwiththe
brakingsystem,andEBDmaynotbeavailable.Ifthis
occurs,stopthecarassoonassafetypermitsandseek
anMGAuthorisedRepairerimmediately.DONOTdrive
thecarwiththebrakesystemwarninglightilluminated.
ElectronicBrakeAssist(EBA)
Y ourcarisequippedwithElectronicBrakeAssist,which
reactstothespeedatwhichthebrakepedalisapplied.If,
inanemergencysituationthebrakesareappliedfasterthan
thelimitssetwithinthesystem,thenfullABSapplicationis
appliedtobringthecartoastopintheshortestpossible
distance.
HillHoldControl(HHC)
HHCcannotholdthevehicleonhillinany
condition(forexample

surfacewet,snowy
orslopeover30%),andcannotsubstitutefor
theattentionofdriver.
HHCcannotsubstituteforparkingbrake
andjustassistthevehicletostaronhill.
Prohibitthedrivertoleavethecarasitmay
leadtoaseriousaccidentwhenHHCenable.
Thecarmayslideifitdoesnotstaratonce
releasingthebrakepedal.pressdownthe
brakepedalorapplytheparkingbrake.
Pressdownthebrakepedaldeeplyforseveral
secondsbeforestarthevehiclecanavoid
slidingonhill.
HHCassiststhedrivertostarthevehicleonhillandavoid
sliding.
ThefollowingconditionsarefullledtoactivateHHC：
•Stopthevehicleonhillwithaslopeover4%morethan
2seconds.
