Operating Instructions Arium
®
Comfort I, Comfort II 45
Valid CO
2
values for feed water range from 0.1 to 99.9 mg/L. An upper limit
of 40 mg/L (ppm) applies to the Arium
®
Comfort II system.
Valid values for the water hardness of the feed water range from 0.1 to
®
Comfort systems.
If the iJust function is inactivated, standard values are used for the CO
2
value and water hardness. These settings are not recommended because
they might adversely affect the operation of your Arium
®
Comfort system.
Determining the CO
2
value
If the CO
2
value of the input water is unknown, you can calculate it from the
water hardness and pH value using the following formula.
CO
2
= Water hardness/10^((pH-6.3)/0.973)
You can also use an approximate CO
2
value from the following diagram.
Sartorius recommends using test sticks to determine the water hardness.
A suitable pH meter should be used to measure the pH value.
You can also determine the CO
2
content using a CO
2
quick test.
