9-3 Replacing the Main Circuit Board
STEP PROCEDURE
1. Switch the printer OFF and disconnect the power cable.
2. Remove (3) screws holding the left side cover to the printer. Raise the
access door and loosen the (2) screws on the inside top of the printer.
Lift off the left side cover to expose the main PCB. Refer to Section 4-2.
3. Note cable connection locations, then carefully disconnect the cables
from the main circuit board. Fig. 9-1
4. Remove (4) screws to detach the defective PCB from the printer.

5. Carefully remove the EPROMS from the defective board and install in
the same locations on the replacement circuit board. Make sure the
marks on the EPROMS are aligned correctly with the sockets. Fig. 9-1
6. Reinstall the circuit board using screws previously removed. Reattach
the cables.
7. Replace the left side cover and reconnect the power cable.
8. Reset printer to factory defaults by following the Factory Default
Procedure in Section 2-2.
