9-13 Pitch Sensor Adjustment (Eye-Mark Tag/Label)
STEP PROCEDURE
Refer to Section 4-2 for access to main PCB
1. Connect the power cable. Raise the main cover and load the ribbon and
label stock with eye-marks. Fig. 9-46
2. Turn the power to the ON position.
3. Set the VR1 potentiometer on the main circuit board fully clockwise.
Fig. 9-47 & 9-48
4. Set the digital multimeter to DC voltage measurement mode.
Connect (+) probe of the multimeter to test pin CH7 and the lead from
the (-) probe of the multimeter to test pin labelled CH1 on the main
circuit board. Fig. 9-49 & 9-50
5. For Low level adjustment, put Eye-Mark in the sensor. Then adjust the
electrical level with VR1 on the main PCB so that it will measure +0.8V .
6. For High level adjustment, put paper part in the pitch sensor and check the
electrical level. If the level difference is +2.0V more than the Low level, it
is acceptable. If not, return to STEP 5 and readjust.
7. Standard values: Low level (Eye-Mark): +0.8V .
High level (paper part): Low level +2.0V or higher
than Low level.
If these values do not result, try the following:
a) Repeat the process
b) Clean the sensor
c) Replace the sensor
