SATO CL608 & CL612 SERVICE MANUAL
SECTION 4 – Electrical Checks and Adjustments
4-8 "Eye-Mark" Adjustment
Additional equipment required: TP Test Module
Digital Multimeter
STEPPROCEDURE
Refer to Section 4-2 for access to main PCB
1. Turn VR1 potentiometer on the main PCB all the way to the left. Fig.
4-13
2. Set the digital multimeter to DC voltage measurement mode.
NOTE: Refer to Fig. 4-14 & 4-15. Refer also to Section 4-3. Attach
the connector from the TP Test Module to the test port on the main
PCB. Note correct positioning of connector. Nibs on the connector are
placed down in the receptacle on the PCB in the forward position. Set
the dial to 4.
3. Connect (+) probe of the multimeter to Sig+ and (-) probe to pin
GND.
4. For Low level (no "Eye-Mark" part) adjustment, put paper part in the
sensor and close the lid. Then adjust the electrical level with VR1 on
the main PCB so that it will measure +0.8 V.
5. For High level ("Eye-Mark" part) adjustment, put paper part in the
sensor and check the electrical level. If the level difference is + 1.5 V
more than the Low level, it is acceptable. If not, return to STEP 4 and
readjust.
6. Standard values: Low level (no "Eye-Mark" part): +0.8 V or less.
High level ("Eye-Mark"): Low level +1.5 V or
higher. If these values do not result, try the
following:
a) Repeat the process
b) Clean the sensor
c) Replace the sensor
d) Replace "Eye-Mark" stock with higher quality
stock
e) Perform factory reset
7. Add the High level and Low level, then divide by 0.5 to determine
input level. Refer to Section 2-4 to adjust input level.
