Figure 4-16 shows a possible connection for a quad engine vessel,
but without ACRs. In single engine trolling this connection does not
guarantee that the PCM is connected to a charging battery, so the
battery switch for the running engine must be set to ‘Both’ (or ‘1+2’
or ‘All’ on some switches). If the engines are always trolled in pairs
(inboard pair or outboard pair) the position of the battery switches is
not important because one charging battery will always be connected
to the PCM when connected as shown.
To make your system as error-proof as possible, SeaStar recommends
the use of ACRs as shown in figure 4-15.
