3 PREPARING THE GAS DUCT SIDE
3 Preparing the Gas Duct Side
3.1 Preparing the sampling point
▸ Determine the installation location.
Observe the ambient conditions of the GM32, see “System: GM32”, page 65.
▸ Observe the space requirements for the SR-unit and the reflector unit, see “System:
GM32”, page 65.
Provide for additional space for maintenance work (swiveling out the housing door).
▸ Determine the installation location for the connection unit.
Observe maximum line lengths, see “Connection diagram”, page 19, or as planned.
▸ Observe the length of the connecting hose of 5 m or 10 m, see “Laying the electrical
connection lines”, page 19.
▸ Provide the power supply for the connection unit .
Observe the power requirements, see “System: GM32”, page 65.
▸ Lay the signal lines.
▸ Determine the installation location for the purge air unit or units, see “Connection dia-
gram”, page 19, or as specified in the project planning.
Provide clearance for changing the filter element (→ Technical data of purge air unit).
▸ Determine the installation location for the purge air unit or units, see “Laying the electri-
cal connection lines”, page 19, or as specified in the project planning.
Provide clearance for changing the filter element (→ Technical data of Ex purge air unit).
3.1.1 Checking the scope of delivery
▸ Check the scope of delivery according to the order confirmation/delivery note.
WARNING: Risk of explosions in potentially explosive atmospheres
!▸
Do not use the GM32 in potentially explosive atmospheres.
● The basis for determining the sampling point is the preceding project planning (e.g.,
based on the SICK application questionnaire), the information in the final inspection
record of the GM32 and the regulations of the local authorities.
The operator is responsible for:
● Determining the sampling point (e.g., determining a representative sampling point).
● Preparing the sampling point (e.g., load carrying capacity of the welded flange).
▸ Compare the data of the final inspection record with the data of the order confirma-
tion - they must be identical.
