3.1 Properties of the cam types
Cam types
You can assign each cam for operation as a position-based cam or time-based cam.
The table below shows a comparison of the properties of both cam types.

Effective direction Two effective directions are supported:
positive: The cam is activated at
the cam start, if the axis is moving
in direction of increasing actual
values.
negative: The cam is activated at
the cam end, if the axis is moving
in direction of decreasing actual
values.
You can set both effective directions in
parallel.
