Installing and Reinstalling System Host
Software
Use this procedure to:
 Install software version 2.0 when DIMAQ is not installed on your
system.
 Reinstall system host software.
To install or reinstall system host software:
Prerequisite: If you plan to delete user-defined settings during software installation (by
selecting Initialize Preset on the System/Language screen), then Siemens recommends
that you make a backup copy of user-defined settings (system presets, QuickSets, and
OB tables and formulas) before beginning this procedure.
Note: This procedure is approximately 15 minutes in duration.
1. With the system powered on, insert the MO disk containing the new
system software into the MO drive located on the left of the ultrasound
system.
2. Press the F4 key on the keyboard to display the Preset Main Menu
screen, select System/Language on the left of the screen, and then
select one of the following selections:
Select Retain Current Preset to retain user-defined settings
(system presets, QuickSets, OB tables and formulas) and retain the
current language selection.
Select Initialize Preset to delete user-defined settings (system
presets, QuickSets, OB tables and formulas) and reset the language
selection to the factory default.
Note: Siemens recommends that you make a backup copy of user-defined
settings (system presets, QuickSets, and OB tables and formulas) before
deleting user-defined settings.
3. Select the Upgrade System button to begin software installation.
4. If the system displays a confirmation message, then select Yes to
confirm the operation.
The system displays a message requesting "restart" of the system.
5. Cycle power to the system.
a. Press the green ON/OFF (

) switch to power off the system.
b. When the screen goes dark, press the green ON/OFF (
/
) switch
to power on the system.
The system displays a progress bar at the bottom of the screen.
