Itmayberequiredtochangeoneormorecommunicationchannels,andtheremaybemany
reasonsforthis.
•Youhavemorethanoneofeachsensor.Forexample,ifyouhavethreetemperature
sensors,theyMUSTcommunicateonthreedifferentchannels.
•Othervesselsnearyoursusethesamecatchmonitoringsystem(orsimilar)andtheyhave
oneormoreoftheirsensorssetuptothesamecommunicationchannelsasyouhave.
Thiswillcreateinterferenceasyouwill“read”othersensors.
•Ifyoursensorsaresetuptousecommunicationchannelstooclosetoeachother(for
example,ifyouhavechosenchannels4,5and6),thiswilllimitthespeedofthevessel.
ThereasonforthisistheDopplereffect.
•Ifyouoperateatthemaximumrangeofthesensors,youmaybeabletoincreasethis
rangeslightlyifyouuselowercommunicationchannels.Thisisbecausethelower
communicationchannelsuselowertransmissionfrequencies.
