Inordertoprovidecorrectandaccuratereadings,thedepthmeasurementmustbecalibrated.
ThepurposeoftheCalibrationdialogboxistoacceptandapplythecalibrationinformation
fromthedepthsensorcalibration.
Prerequisites
Inordertocalibrateameasurement,youneedasuitablerope.
Context
Thesensordetectsthedepthusingwaterpressuremeasurements.Calibrationismade
automaticallybyreadjustingthismeasurementagainstaknowndepth.Inordertocalibrate
thedepthmeasurement,itmustbesubmergedintosaltwater.Thesoftwareprovidedfor
calibrationassumesthatthesensorisloweredtoyourdesired“0”(starting)point+1m.
Procedure
1Mountaropetothetopfasteninglugsonthesensor.
2Tightentherope,andmeasureonemeterfromthelidofthesensortoaspotontherope.
Placeavisualmarkerontheropeatthatlocation.
3Lowerthesensoroverthesideofthevesselandintothewateruntilthevisualmarker
ontheropeisevenwiththesurface.
Ifyouwishtouseadepthreferencedifferentthantheseasurface,changethemarking
ontheropetotyourpreference.Youcanalsoattachthesensoronemeterundera
oatingdevice.Youmusttestthisarrangementbeforeyouuseit.Makesurethatthe
sensorlid(withthepressuredetectiondevice)isplacedatonemeterdepthwhenthe
unitisloweredintothewater.
