serialports.Everyserialcommunication
portispresentedasa9–pinD-connector.
Nexttoeveryporticon,agreenindicator
showsitisavailable,whilearedoneshows
itisnotavailable.Selectthesystemyou
wanttointerfacefromthelistprovided.If
yourequipmentisnotlisted,selectOther
hardware.

PortMonitordialogbox
CommunicationwithexternaldevicesisimportantforTV80operation.Thecommunication
betweentheProcessorUnitandperipheraldevicestakesplaceusing"datagrams".These
datagramsareself-containedandindependententitiesofdatacarryinginformation.When
settingupormaintainingtheTV80,itisalwaysusefultoverifythatthecommunication
lineswithexternaldevicesareoperational.ThePortMonitordialogboxallowsyoutostudy
thecommunicationstreamonthechosenseriallineorLANport.

ThePortMonitordialogbox,isopenedfromtheI/OSetuppageontheInstallationdialog
box.Toopen,selecttheinspectionpointnexttotheporticoninthe“blockdiagram”.
TheInstallationdialogboxislocatedontheSetupmenu.
