realised at the device without the consent of the manufacturer.
This applies especially to the safety equipment. Rendering safety equipment
inoperable results in a risk of injury. Never remove safety equipment, nor render it
inoperable

• When working at the device, the personal protective equipment required for the
task must be used.
Comply with generally-applicable work safety rules and regulations.

3.9.1 Personal protective equipment
Failure to use personal protective equipment can lead to damage to health or
injuries.
• The following types of protective equipment are to be used for certain tasks at
the device:
Respiratory protection
Always to be used when handling powder.
Protective goggles
Always to be used when handling powder.
Hand protection
Latex gloves are always to be used when handling powder.
Suitable work gloves are to be used when handling the device or
print object while this is still hot, or to prevent cuts.
Protective laser goggles
Always to be used when maintenance work on open laser unit is
performed. No such work can be done without the approval of the
manufacturer and a recommendation or delivery of appropriate laser
goggles.
• Appropriate protective equipment must be at hand prior to commencing work
with/at the device.
