7.4 Treating the residual powder
Residual powder that accumulates during the printing process can be treated and
then re-used. Residual powder should be used only when mixed with new powder,
to ensure that optimum results are achieved.
1. Sieve the residual powder, so that impurities (caked particles) can be removed.
Use a Mesh 100 sieve (mesh size: 150 μm) for this purpose.
2. Add the residual powder to new powder and mix it in.
Recommended mixing proportions:
max. 30% residual powder and min. 70% new powder (Sintratec PA 12 Black)
– Mix well, so that a homogeneous distribution of residual powder and new
powder is achieved.
