Braki ng
As in the case of acceleration, using traction enhancing products will
give you better braking capacity on packed snow or ice but will have
no noticeable effect on soft snow. Braking may thus vary suddenly
under certain conditions. Be sure to use restraint in braking to keep
from blocking the track in order to avoid sur prises that could lead to
alossofcontrol.
Important Saf ety Rules
WARNING
To prevent serious injury to ind ividuals nea r the s nowmobi le :
– NEVER stand behind or near a moving tr ack .
– Always use a wide-base snowmobile st and with a rear de-
flec tor panel.

Effects of Traction Enhancing Products on
the Life of the Snowmobile
The use of traction enhancing products can increase the load and
the stress on certain snowm obile components, as well as the vibra-
tion level. T his can cause p remature w ear on parts such as belts,
brake linings, bearings, chain, chaincase sprocket, and on approved
studded tracks, shorten track life. Always proceed with a visual in-
spection of your track before each use. For more inform ation, r efer
to MA INTE NANCE/REPLACEMENT section further in this guide.
Traction enhancing prod ucts can also cause se rious damage to your
snowmobile if it is not equipped wit h the tunnel protectors designed
fo r you r particu la r mode l. D amage to the electri cal wiri ng or perfo-
ration of t he heat exchangers are potential hazards, that could cause
the engine to overheat and be severely damaged.
WARNING
If tunnel protectors are excessively worn or not installed, the
gas tank could be punctured, causing a fire.
