When the engine is not running, depressing the START/RER button
w ill en ga ge the elec tric sta rter on vehicle s o equipped and start the
engine.

W hen the engine is running, depressing the START/RER button will
com mand the engine to reverse crankshaft rotation as driving the
snowmobile in reverse is achieve d by changing the direction of rota-
tion of the engine, not by shifting the chaincase in reverse gear.
When depressing the START/RER button, the electronic module will
pr actically slow down the engine RPM to a stop and advance the
ignition timing to cause crankshaft rotation reversing.
En gine will a utomatic all y shift into forward when starting after st op-
ping or stalling.
Shifting procedure will take place only when the engine is running.
If engine is running at a speed above 4300 RPM, the r everse f unction
of the STA RT/RER butto n is canc elled.
It i s recommen ded to warm u p the en gi ne to its no rmal operating
temperature before shifting.

To start engine, push START/RER button and hold until engine has
started.
CAUTION: D o not hold START /RER b utton more tha n 10 sec onds.
A rest period sho uld be observed between the cranking cycles to
let s tarte r c ool down. Hold ing S TART/RER button when eng ine
has started cou ld damage star ter mec h anism.
Rele ase START/ RER button immediately when engi ne h as s tarted.
If engine does not start on first try, wait a few seconds then repeat
procedur e. To stop engine, turn off engine cut-out swit ch or pull off
te ther cord ca p.
N O TE: If necessary engine may be manually started with rewind
starter.
