Section 2 - Familiarization Control Functions
It is the responsibility of the operator to read, completely understand and follow all instructions and warnings
contained in this operating manual and on the aerial platform.
FAMILIARIZATION
2.2-5 Emergency Lowering System
The emergency lowering system allows platform
lowering in the event of an emergency or an electrical
system failure. Refer to Section 2.6 for the emergency
lowering procedure. The system contains the following
controls:

1. Holding Valve Manual Override Knob - Located
on the holding valve at the bottom of each lift
cylinder.
2. Emergency Lowering Valve - Located at the
motor/hydraulic compartment.
3. Emergency Lowering Access Rod - Located at
the right side of the base.
2.2-6 Lowering Warning System
A lowering warning system automatically stops the
lowering function before reaching the fully retracted
position and sounds the alarm.

1. Free-wheeling Valve - The free-wheeling valve
is located on the main manifold in the motor/
hydraulic compartment. Refer to Section 2.5-1 for
procedure on how to release the free-wheeling
valve.
