“C12” CKP SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
INSPECTION
Step1
1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Check the CKP sensor coupler
1 for loose or poor contacts.
If OK, then measure the CKP sensor resistance.
3) Disconnect the CKP sensor coupler and measure the resis-
tance.
% CKP sensor resistance: 130 – 240 Ω
(White – Green)
4) If OK, then check the continuity between each terminal and
ground.
% CKP sensor continuity: ∞ Ω (Infinity)
(White – Ground)
(Green – Ground)
! 09900-25008: Multi circuit tester set
& Tester knob indication: Resistance (Ω)
Are the resistance and continuity OK?
DETECTED CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSE
The signal does not reach ECM for 3 sec. and more,
after receiving the IAP signal.
• Metal particles or foreign materiel being attached
on the CKP sensor and rotor tip.
• CKP sensor circuit open or short.
• CKP sensor malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.

YES Go to Step 2.
NO Replace the CKP sensor with a new one.
