Step 2
1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Disconnect the STP sensor coupler.
3) Check the continuity between Yellow wire and ground.
% STP sensor continuity: ∞ Ω (Infinity)
(Yellow – Ground)
4) If OK, then measure the STP sensor resistance at the coupler
(between Yellow and Black wires).
5) Close and open the secondary throttle valve fully by turning
the actuator shaft end
1, and measure the STP sensor resis-
tance with both STV positions.
% STP sensor resistance
Secondary throttle valve is closed: Approx. 0.58 kΩ
Secondary throttle valve is opened: Approx. 4.38 kΩ
! 09900-25008: Multi circuit tester set
& Tester knob indication: Resistance (Ω)

Is the resistance OK?

Do not use the tool for turning the STVA shaft to pre-
vent breakdown.

YES Go to Step 3
NO
• Reset the STP sensor position correctly.

• Replace the STP sensor with a new one.
