Appendix B: Camera Control
Protocol
Overview
The TCS5500 Digital Conference & Interpretation System supports
a camera control. The commands which the camera control should
understand will be described shortly.
The camera control must be connected to the CPU5500 central unit
through a RS232 connection (or Ethernet). The appropriate port to
use on the CPU5500 central unit is COM1 or COM2. The choice of
port and baudrate can be done through the CPU user interface or
through the operational control suite software (CONFSYS).
An overview of the settings of the communication port for the
camera control:
Commands
All commands sent by the CPU5500 central unit start with a ‘%’
sign. The last character is a character which states the end of the
transmission. Just before the end of transmission character, there
are four characters within the command sent to the camera control
which account for the CRC checksum. The CRC checksum is in
uppercase hexadecimal form while all other numbers are in decimal
form.
