RSTP
In 1998, the IEEE with document 802.1w introduced an
evolution of STP: the R
apid Spanning Tree Protocol, which
provides for faster spanning tree convergence after a topology
change. Standard IEEE 802.1D-2004 now incorporates RSTP
and obsoletes STP, while at the same time being
backwards-compatible with STP.

SAMBA
Samba is a program running under UNIX-like operating
systems that provides seamless integration between UNIX and
Microsoft Windows machines. Samba acts as file and print
servers for Microsoft Windows, IBM OS/2, and other SMB
client machines. Samba uses the Server Message Block (SMB)
protocol and Common Internet File System (CIFS), which is the
underlying protocol used in Microsoft Windows networking.
Samba can be installed on a variety of operating system
platforms, including Linux, most common Unix platforms,
OpenVMS, and IBM OS/2.
