DISASSEMBLY
Clean and dry the exterior of the cylinder before disas-
sembly. Disassemble the cylinder following the steps in
Figure 6D-3.
NOTE:
When removing the ball joint, count the number of
turns for removal. This will aid in replacing the ball
joint.
INSPECTION
1. Inspect all parts for excessive wear, cracks, bro-
ken parts, and damaged threads.
2. Discard all o-rings, seals, and backup rings.
3. Inspect the barrel for dents and lines, or grooves
inside.
4. Inspect the fittings for wear and damage.

WARNING
Use appropriate eye protection when using com-
pressed air for cleaning or drying purposes. Com-
pressed air can cause serious personal injury. Use
safety reduction valves to reduce the air pressure to
a safe level before use.

Use a spanner wrench to remove
rod guide assembly from barrel.

Disassemble piston
as shown.
