3.6.5 Switching the bias voltage on and off (PDBIA)
Programming:
Syntax: ":PDBIA OFF"
":PDBIA ON"
Assumption: The laser diode output is switched off.
Description: Switches the photo diode bias voltage on or off.
Reading:
Syntax: ":PDBIA?"
Response: [:PDBIA OFF]
[:PDBIA ON]
Description: Queries the state of the photo diode bias voltage.
Attention
Before switching on the bias voltage make sure that the monitor
diode polarity is set correctly.
If the monitor diode is forward biased with a voltage the resulting
current may damage or even destroy the monitor diode (= the laser
module).
(For checking the right polarity please refer to chapter 2.10, "Adjusting the bias
voltage of the monitor diode" on page 38)
