10.1.6 Material Slips in Vise Clamps

Problem The material slips in the vise clamps during operations.

Cause The air pressure to the vise jaws may be too low.

Probability How-To Steps Need More?
Clean the
bandsaw.
High Examine the bandsaw for chip build-up. If necessary,
clean it of chips.

Adjust the air
pressure to the
vise jaws.
High Verify that the air pressure is set to at least 90 psi. If
it's not, adjust your regulator. Otherwise, examine your
air supply.

Tighten the
handwheel.
High During manual operation, verify that the handwheel is
completely tightened. If it's not, tighten it.
