withaStandardControlModule(SCM)tomonitorandcontroltheelectrical
componentsrequiredforsafeoperation.TheSCMislocatedunderthecontrol
panelcover(Figure112).
TheSCMmonitorstheinputsfromthekey,neutral,parkingbrake,PTO,seat,
hightemperaturewarningswitch,andhightemperatureshutdownswitch.
CurrentoutputtothePTO(electricclutch),enginestartermotor,andengine
runcomponents(fuelpump,dieselenginerunsolenoid,andgasolineengine
ignition)arecontrolledbasedontheinputsmonitoredbytheSCM.
UsetheSCMtochecktheoperationofthemachineswitchesbymonitoringthe
SCMLEDs.IfaSCMLEDdoesnotilluminate(e.g.,theinseatinputLEDdoes
notilluminatewhentheseatisoccupiedandthekeyswitchisintheONposition),
youmusttesttheswitch,fuses,andcircuitwiring.
TheSCMdoesnotconnecttoanexternalcomputerorhandhelddevice,cannot
bere-programmed,anddoesnotrecordintermittentfaultdata.
