Thehightemperaturewarningswitch(Figure151andFigure152)isattached
tothewaterpumphousingontheengineandhasayellowwireattachedtoit.
Thisswitchisnormallyopenandcloseswhentheenginecoolanttemperature
reachesapproximately105°C(220°F).Theclosedswitchcausesthehigh
temperaturewarninglightontheconsoletoilluminateandalsoprovidesaninput
totheStandardControlModule(SCM).
ThisinputcausestheSCMhightemperaturewarningLEDtoilluminateandthe
cuttingdecktoshutdown.Thehightemperaturewarningswitchandcircuit
wiringshouldbetestedasaSCMinputbeforeperformingthefollowingtesting
procedure.
TestingtheHighTemperatureWarningSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Unlatchthehoodandraiseit.
