Note:Whenassemblingthemotor,checkthemarkerlineoneachparttomake
surethepartsareproperlyalignedduringassembly.
1.LubricateO–rings,pressureseals,back−upgasketsandthrustplategrooves
withathincoatofpetroleumjelly.Lubricateallotherinternalpartsfreelywith
cleanhydraulicuid.
2.Installnewsealsintofrontange(Figure108):
A.Pressinnershaftsealintofrontangeuntilitreachesthebottomofthe
bore.
B.Installangewasherintofrontangeandtheninstallretainingringinto
thegrooveofthefrontange.
C.Installoutershaftsealintofrontange.
3.Placefrontange,sealsidedown,onaatsurface.
4.Installthepressureseals,atsideoutward,intothegroovesinthethrust
plates.Followbycarefullyplacingthebackupgaskets,atsideoutward,
betweenthepressuresealsandthegroovesinthethrustplate.
5.Applyalightcoatingofpetroleumjellytotheexposedsideofthefrontange.
6.Lubricatethedrivegearshaftwithcleanhydraulicuid.Insertthedriveend
ofthedriveshaftthroughthethrustplatewiththepressuresealsidedown
andtheopensideofthepressuresealpointingtotheinletsideofthemotor.
Carefullyinstallshaftintofrontange.Becarefulnottonicksealswithshaft
threads.
7.Lubricatetheidlergearshaftwithcleanhydraulicuid.Installidlergearshaft
intotheremainingpositioninthefrontthrustplate.Applyalightcoatingof
cleanhydraulicuidtogearfaces.
8.Installrearthrustplatewithpressuresealsideupandopensideofthe
pressuresealpointingtotheinletsideofthemotor.
9.ApplyalightcoatingofpetroleumjellytonewO–ringsandO–ringgroovesin
thebody.InstallnewO–ringstothebody.
10.Installlocatingdowelsinbody.Alignmarkerlineonthebodyandfrontange.
IMPORTANT
Donotdislodgesealsduringinstallation.
11.Gentlyslidethebodyontotheassembly.Firmhandpressureshouldbe
sufcienttoengagethedowels.
12.Checktomakesurethatthesurfaceoftherearthrustplateisslightly
belowthefaceofthebody.Ifthethrustplateisnotbelowthebody,check
assemblyforashiftedpressureseal,backupgasketorO–ring.Correct
beforeproceeding.
13.Applyalightcoatingofpetroleumjellytotheexposedsideoftherearcover.
14.Placerearcoveronassemblyusingmarkerlineforproperlocation.Firm
handpressureshouldbesufcienttoengagethedowelpins.
15.Installthefour(4)capscrewswithwashersandhandtightenscrews.
IMPORTANT
Preventdamagewhenclampingthemotorintoavise;clamponthe
frontangeonly.Also,useavisewithsoftjaws.
