11.Carefullyremoveoutershaftseal,retainingring,angewasherandinner
shaftsealfromthefrontange(Figure108).Discardremovedseals.

1.Removeanynicksandburrsfromallpartswithemerycloth.
CAUTION
Usegogglesorotherappropriateeyeprotectionwhenusing
compressedairfordryingparts.
2.Cleanallpartswithsolvent.Dryallpartswithcompressedair.

thrustplatesand,thus,mustbereplaced.
4.Inspectthrustplatesforthefollowing:
A.Bearingareasshouldnothaveexcessivewearorscoring.
B.Faceofthrustplatesthatareincontactwithgearsshouldbefreeofwear,
roughnessorscoring.
C.Thicknessofthrustplatesshouldbeequal.
5.Inspectfrontangeandrearcoverfordamageorwear.
