14. TRANSFER UNIT

14.1 General Descriptions

The transfer unit transfers the toner image formed on the photoconductive drum to the transfer belt, and

then transfers it to the paper. The transfer of the toner image from the photoconductive drum to the

transfer belt is called 1st transfer and the transfer from the transfer belt to the paper is called 2nd trans-

fer.

To reproduce a color image, maximum four color images are overlaid on the transfer belt and the over-

laid image is then transferred to the paper. Namely, the transfer belt turns four times for printing of one

image.

The transfer belt rotates with the main motor (M6) drive.
