DATABASE SYNCHRONIZATION Administration Plane
1-10 Installation Manual June, 2011
Figure 1-3 Database Synchronization
DATABASE
SYNCHRONIZATION
When a configuration change to a Member Node is made through the
Primary Node Enterprise Manager, the change is first executed in the
Member Node Call Processor DB then, updated in the Primary Node
Enterprise Manager DB. When a Member Node is attached to an IPedge
Net Enterprise System for the first time its IPedge Call Processor DB will
be read directly by the Primary Node Enterprise Manager to update the
Primary Node DB. Configuration changes to applications on member
nodes, other than the Call Processor, are kept locally in the Member
Node.
NETWORKS In every enterprise system the member nodes are connect to the primary
node by the Enterprise Manager network. All multi-node IPedge systems
are connected by two planes over a single network.
Administration Plane This is the network used to send commands, backup or restore
databases, and all other administrative functions. No call processing.
IPedge Net Plane This is the voice (call processing) plane. Multiple IPedge servers
connected by only the administration plane allow central management but
operate as separate telephone systems. Servers connected by IPedge
Net appear to users as a single large system.
