At the ink bag connection, place a damp cloth directly under the hose connection to
be changed.
Turn the connector counterclockwise and catch any drops that escape with the cloth
underneath.
Close both connections with the corresponding sealing plugs.
Pull alternately on the two M4 screws previously screwed in at the front to loosen the
printhead and pull it out towards the front. Make sure that the heating cable with the
4-pin housing does not get jammed in the electronics compartment.
Clean the area from which the printhead was removed with a damp cloth and, if
necessary, realign the two white plastic spacers for mounting the new head.
Remove the transport protection from the new printhead and screw it onto the old
head.
Lightly press in the white sealing tape into its slot and carefully push the print head
frame into the free slot. Make sure to thread the two FCC cables and the cable for
the heater on the side of the electronics.
Tighten the two previously removed M3 screws gently on the left and right of the
printhead front to secure the printhead frame.
Inside the electronics compartment, lay the FCC cables without bending them and
prepare their position for mounting. The upper FCC cable coming from the printhead
is connected to X1, the lower cable to X2. The two blue markings must face each
other so that the contacts point away from each other.
Push both FCC cables into respective sockets of the angled PCB and lock them by
pressing down the frame.
Slide the angled PCB into the sheet metal receptacle on the right and then press it
very precisely into the contact strip on the left. Make sure that it is really pressed
completely into the socket strip and does not sit with a row of pins next to it.
Plug the 4-pin cable for the heater into the corresponding socket on the left of the
angled PCB.
Close the flap of the electronics compartment
Now look in the compartment with the tubing, make sure that the hose clamp is open
and remove the sealing plug from the tubing of the new printhead.
Place a damp cloth directly below the bag to be connected.
Now remove the protective cap of the ink bag and connect the connector to the ink
hose connector as quickly as possible. To do this, twist the pipe counterclockwise to
tension and then let it slide into the bag connector. If the connection is not relaxed
and the bag twists in the compartment, loosen the connection again and try again as
described above. With a little practice, a good and secure connection is thus
possible.
Remove the object previously used to lift the printhead, lift the entire printhead and
tilt it by approx. 45 degrees for a few seconds so that the printheads point towards
