Printhead Replacement
the floor and shake it slightly. This removes any air bubbles that may have reached
the ink outlets as a result of the previous 5 cm lift.
Put on protective gloves, hold a dust-free wipe below the printhead nozzles with one
hand and evenly press onto the corresponding ink bag with the spread fingers of the
other hand.
Watch air bubbles and ink coming out of the nozzles and continue squeezing until
you can be sure that there is no more air in the hose and printhead. If a cloth is
relatively saturated, discard it and take a new cloth to absorb more ink. Also make
sure that the ink bag hose connection is tight and no ink is leaking.
Clean the surroundings of the printhead and close all flaps. Be aware that after each
printhead change, there may still be air in the tubing system, which can cause ink
failure. It is safest to print some square meters for test purposes to avoid a
possible ink failure in a print job.
9.4 Wifi Network Connection
The wallPen Control software for controlling the machine is operated via web browser.
Generally the wallPen runs on a Unix 32 bit operating system, based on an ARM
processor with 4GB RAM and an internal 256GB USB3 flash drive.
When booting, the wallPen E2 provides a Wifi Access Point (AP) through which the
device is operated via web browser. The standard operation is via an Android tablet,
which is connected via Wifi to the Unix system. For this we use a USB WiFi Unit plugged
into the the internal system board, which acts as a Wifi Router providing a Wifi Network
called "wallPen E2 XXXX", where "XXXX" are the last four characters of the wallPen
mainboard serial number.
If you need to reconnect to the wallPen WiFi network, please notice that the IP address
to connect to the router is 192.168.0.1:9000 and the default Wifi connection password
is "printingonwalls".
Using the settings above, you may also use any other web browser on Tablets,
Smartphones or Laptops to connect to and operate the machine.
By default, the included tablet comes with Fully Kiosk Browser software. For ease of use,
this software bypasses the Android home screen, automatically connects to the device's
Wifi network and launches the wallPen Control software.
If it is necessary to change the configuration, please follow these steps only after being
prompted by one of our service staff:
To exit the protected mode of the software, change the configuration or access the Android
interface, tap twice at the top left and then twice at the bottom right of the tablet screen
during operation. A password prompt appears. By entering "0000" you enter the
configuration of the "Fully Kiosk Browser" and can also leave it to Android via the
corresponding menu item. If you enter "1234" as the password, you will enter the Android
Wifi configuration.
