5.1 wallPen Processor
All images to be printed with the wallPen must be prepared with the "wallPen
Processor". This software is a "Raster Image Processor" ("RIP") developed by wallPen
Germany, which evaluates bitmap files, converts and splits them into the required color
channels ("CMYK") and raster these channels so that the ink drops on the substrate
later cumulate to produce an image that is as true to the original as possible.
It should be noted that this method is always only an approximation, as the available
colors of the printer (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) only provide a relatively small color
space than most (photo) templates represent. In this respect, "ripping" is always just a
compromise for such technical reasons.
In order to rip a graphic file with the wallPen Processor, certain requirements have to
be met for the image file. In general we recommend a current version of the software
"Adobe
©
Photoshop" or "Affinity
©
Photo" for image processing and the preparation for
rastering.
The latest version of the wallPen Processor is available for download on our service
platform at service.wallpen.com. During installation, the wallPen model used (E1/E2) is
queried. This model selection can be changed later in the software settings after
installation.
