6.1 Tablet Operation
1. Make sure that the assembly of the printer has been done entirely and properly.
2. Place the printer in at a reasonable distance parallel to the wall. Do not push any
axis against the motor force!
3. Make sure that the EMERGENCY OFF switch is unsealed.
4. Connect the wallPen with the supplied power cord to a power outlet with ground
fault circuit interrupter (RCD).
5. Switch on the device at the main switch.
6. Wait about 60 to 90 seconds for the printer to automatically initialize the vertical
and printhead axis, heating up the printheads, and establishing a WiFi connection
with your tablet.
7. Select the actual printer placement: On tracks or freely steerable.
8. Move the Y axis upwards using the proper slider to either find or define an upper
limit.
9. Use the sliders to jog the X and Y axis to lower left corner of the image to be
printed.
10. Move the printhead axis (Z axis) towards the wall until a reasonable printing
distance is given.
11. Active "Automatic Distance Control" and keep adjusting the distance to the wall -
also later during printing - in real-time using the plus / minus buttons as described
in the chapter "Software | wallPen Control | DistCtrl Distance". Make sure the
distance of the printhead unit to the wall stays in a range of about 2 to 6 mm all the
time.
12. Insert a flash drive with at least one valid ".wallpen"-file into the rear USB
connector at the rear of the printhead housing.
