Suitable Substrates
Care should be taken when printing on metal or ceramic tiles. Here you should always
check the suitability by printing a test print first. Many metals and ceramic tiles can be
printed well, some do not. Unfortunately, there is no rule here, but an individual test is
for sure necessary.
Not suitable for UV printing is fabric, paper, cardboard or leather, although customers
have already successfully printed these materials.
Printing Outdoor
Outdoor printing presents you with many more challenges than indoor printing. On the
one hand, the influence of frost and heat on the substrate and the print itself is always
very different and often almost incalculable. On the other hand, it is difficult to estimate
how intense and detrimental the print is to the environmental impact of solar UV
radiation, wind and weather.
Due to these many imponderables, it is not possible for us as a manufacturer to
provide a warranty for outdoor prints. It is much more your know-how and your
experience on site to evaluate how a substrate has to be pre-treated and sealed after
printing in order to guarantee the customer the longest possible service life. In case of
doubt, you should think about a climatic chamber test in order not to run the risk of
being taken into recourse by the customer later if a print outside does not meet the
expectations of the customer.
