wallPen Glass Magic
Procedural instruction
1. Clean the surface thoroughly so that it is free of fingerprints, dirt, grease or dust.
The best cleaning results are achieved with pure alcohol. Alternatively, solvents or
other degreasing cleaning liquids may be used. (Make sure that the detergents
used do not attack or damage the surface to be printed. If in doubt, first test the
cleaner on a sample of substrate material.)
2. Keep the spray bottle about 20 to 30 cm away from the printing surface. Moisten
the material with the fine spray mist using a few short splashes. This spray must
moisten the substrate evenly and completely without droplets forming. (Too much
or too little spray water affects the binding of the UV ink to the substrate.)
3. If even small irregular drops form, use a dust-free, dry, grease-free cloth to
distribute the spray evenly. Use the cloth to wipe the surface softly, carefully and
evenly.
4. Wait at least 8 to 10 minutes until the layer of spray is completely dry &
evaporated.
5. Do not touch the surface and print as usual as soon as possible on the prepared
surface.
6. After printing, remove the spray residue from the surface with a wet cloth.
7. After about 24 hours the UV ink is completely cured.
How can a print be removed again?
A simple and effective way to remove the UV ink applied to a smooth surface with
wallPen Glass Magic is to use a ceramic field scraper or conventional razor blade.
When using solvents, there is a risk that the dissolved UV ink will smear, making it even
more difficult to remove the ink without leaving a residue. Therefore, first test a solvent
on a sample.
