Setting Description Details
Extension Time Increases or
decreases the
extension time, which
the sensor uses to
prevent vehicles
with trailers from
being broken up into
multiple detections.
Adjust this setting if
the sensor seems
to be mishandling
detections of
vehicles with
trailers. Increasing
the extension time
will help make sure
such vehicles aren’t
counted as multiple
detections, but too
much can lead to
multiple vehicles
being detected as a
single vehicle.
After you enter a
value, the sensor
automatically
determines the
extension time and
then multiplies it by
your entered value.
Note. There must
be a minimum of 5.5
ft. (1.7 m) between
vehicles in order for
them to be detected
as separate vehicles;
this minimum may
increase as vehicle
speeds increase.
