2 Safety
2.1 Basic safety
General
• Read and observe the product operating instructions – particularly the chapter on safety.
• Read and observe all other applicable documentation.
• Use the product only as intended.
• Use the correct tool for each application.
Safeguarding against mechanical/physical hazards
• When adding heavy components, be aware of limbs – especially fingers – being trapped or
crushed.
• Only operate transport equipment and lifting devices if you have been authorized to do so.
• Do not lift heavy loads alone.
• Do not use compressed air to clean the cutter or clothing.
• Hold the hand valve on the maintenance unit until all pneumatic hoses are connected.
Safeguarding against electrical hazards
• Use only insulated tools when working on electrical equipment.
• Use the appropriate tool for each application.
• Switch off the device at the main switch and secure against unauthorized restart.
Safeguarding against chemical hazards
• Apply lubrication only with the corresponding application device (e.g., brush, spray can, syringe,
press, tube).
• Apply glue only with the corresponding application device (e.g., applicator gun, tube).
• Read and observe the safety data sheets for chemicals.
