10.2 Aligning the light curtain
The light curtain is equipped with an integrated laser alignment system (ILAS). The lasers used belong
to laser class 2 and transmit a low intensity visible light. The control panels are located at the bottom
next to the light barrier transmitters and at the top next to the receivers.
Please see the manufacturer's documentation for more information.
The light beam of the laser can deviate from the center point of the target, even when the pillars of
the light curtain are optimally aligned. The deviation depends on the distance between the light barrier
transmitter and receiver.
Caution:
Class 2 laser
Possible eye damage.
Do not look into the laser beam.
Switch off the laser alignment system when not in use.
Yellow light grid (type 445L)
The table shows the maximum values:
Distance between light barrier transmitter and receiver 6 m 9 m 18 m
R = distance between target center and light beam 20 mm 30 mm 60 mm
D = diameter of the light point of the light beam 21 mm 32 mm 63 mm
If the tolerance is not observed or to optimize to the position, the pillars can be finely adjusted.
