receiverdetectsthestrongestSignalStrength[10].
− Thebargraphwillclosewhentheunitdetectsasignal,andthearrows
willreverse.
− AdjusttheGain[4]downifthebargraphclosescompletely.
− TheSignalStrength[10]numbersonthedisplaywillchangewiththesignal
strength(smaller,asyouwalkawayfromthetargetpath;larger,asyouapproach
thetargetpath).
− Makeacompletecirclearoundthetransmitter.Returntoeachpointinthecircle
thatthereceiverdetected.
15. Measurethedepthandcurrentofeachpointtoidentifythetargetpath.Thedepth
ofthetargetpathshouldbeasexpectedandtherelativecurrentshouldcompare
totherelativecurrentthatisalternatelyflashingwiththefrequencyvalueonthe
transmitter.
Note: The relative current reading will decrease steadily as the locator moves away
from the transmitter. When using higher frequencies, this decline is more evident.
16. Adjustthegainsothatthebargraphrespondstothetargetpath(openwhenoff
path,almostcompletelyclosedwhendirectlyovertarget).
17. Tracethecable/pipeataslowwalkwhilemovingthereceiverinaside-to-side
motion,keepingthereceiverperpendiculartotheground.
18. Measurethedepthandcurrentoccasionallytoverifytargetpath.
