5.5 BCD (Option 04)
5.5.1 Overview
The BCD parallel interface can be installed optionally on the 6146/6156.
This interface allows the 6146/6156 to connect with the parallel port of a general-purpose computer or a
sequencer.
NOTE: The BCD remote cannot control thermal electromotive force source.
When using the BCD remote, do NOT connect any cables to the external control signals; TRIGGER IN,
INTERLOCK and OPERATE IN/OUT. It may cause malfunction.
Turn OFF all the connected devices before connecting or disconnecting any cables. Check that the chas-
sis of the devices are connected to each other and to the ground before connecting or disconnecting any
cables.
5.5.2 Setting BCD Interface
These settings are enabled when the BCD interface is selected.
When the BCD interface is selected, the RMT indicator on the left side of the display goes ON. To release
the BCD interface, press the LOCAL key. When it is released, the RMT indicator goes OFF.
NOTE: When the BCD interface is released, the interface selected previously before the BCD interface is
restored. To select the BCD interface again, perform the procedure above.
