Assembling and Mounting the Optics
This section explains how to assemble the optics and mount them on the
surface plate.
NOTE The foot spacers in the foot spacer kit have three feet. One side of each foot
spacer has two feet, the opposite side has one foot centered between the
other two feet. In the rest of this chapter, these two feet are referred to as
the “measurement line feet.”
Assembling the optics
To assemble the optics, follow these steps:
1 Using the screws provided, attach the angular reflector to the foot spacer
you chose (Figure 9-5). Follow these guidelines.
Attach the reflector to the foot spacer so that after you place the reflector
and foot spacer on the surface plate:
• The side of the reflector with two openings faces the laser beam.
• The measurement line feet are centered over the measurement line
(Figure 9-6).
